GREENSBORO — The Greensboro-Guilford County Crime Stoppers program was honored Tuesday morning by the director of the FBI’s Charlotte field office.
The program was selected earlier this year to receive the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award for outstanding achievements for assisting in the arrests of thousands of criminals and recovering millions in stolen property.
On Tuesday, Owen D. Harris, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Charlotte field office came to Greensboro to honor the program and Police Chief Tim Bellamy for work and dedication to the program.
The Community Leadership award will be presented to the program in March by FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III.
