Guilford now taking H1N1 shot appointments

GREENSBORO — The Guilford County Department of Public Health is now taking appointments for H1N1 vaccinations for those among the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's priority groups.

Those five groups eligible for flu shots locally are:

* children 6 months to 24 years of age

* pregnant women

* health care workers and emergency services personnel

* adults from 25 to 64 with underlying health conditions

* household contacts and caregivers of children ages 6 months and younger.

To make an appointment in Greensboro, call 641-5563. The health department offices are at 1100 E. Wendover Ave.

To make an appointment in High Point, call 845-7655. The health department offices are at 501 E. Green Drive.

The shots are free, but people should bring their insurance or Medicaid cards.
