EDEN — A call about a suspicious vehicle early Saturday morning turned into an investigation of a triple shooting that left one man dead.

Police said Timothy Ronnel Seay, 37, of 1205 Maxin Road in Martinsville, Va., died of multiple gunshot wounds outside the Eden’s Icehouse Club and Lounge on Monroe Street.

Jason Maurice Gallant, 25, of 8520 Weldon Drive in Richmond, Va., and Terris Tewayne Dandridge, 30, of 621 Mica St. in Martinsville, Va., also were shot.

Gallant was treated and released from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, a spokeswoman said Saturday afternoon.

Dandridge was taken to Morehead Memorial Hospital. Information on his medical condition was unavailable Saturday night.

Eden police Chief Reece Pyrtle would not say whether there were any suspects. He said investigators had spoken to the surviving victims as well as to other witnesses.

Just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday, two officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle parked behind The Hair Company at 624 Monroe St., Pyrtle said.

The police chief said that investigation involved a report of a possible DWI, but he would not comment on whether it was related to the shooting.

The officers heard gunshots on the street and ran in that direction. They saw people running from the Icehouse Club & Lounge at 634 Monroe St. and found three men with gunshot injuries. Seay was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the Icehouse Club & Lounge building has been the site of other violence. “We’ve had some issues with it in the past,” Pyrtle said.

The building previously was known as the Golden Apple restaurant. In May, a man reported being assaulted by three men on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. It was unknown Saturday whether the same person operated both businesses.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Eden Police Department at 623-9240 or 623-9755, or to call Rockingham County Crime Stoppers at 349-9683.
