Greensboro voters let their wishes be known and now is the time to move forward. I hope the newly elected City Council will work for the good of all of Greensboro and not just the people living in certain parts of town. Hopefully, the new City Council will make decisions based on common and reasoned good sense and will not be overly influenced by activist groups, PACs and the Pulpit Forum.
The citizens of Greensboro owe a great debt for the work of Mike Barber, Mary Rakestraw and Trudy Wade. They were criticized by the left as being divisive and strident because they asked the hard questions about matters that our mayor and some council members wished to ignore and still deny. Will Robbie Perkins ever admit that Mitchell Johnson was a poor choice for city manager or that David Wray was not the culprit he was pictured to be? Going along just to get elected or re-elected is a poor way to serve our citizens.
Congratulations to Mayor-elect Bill Knight and all the elected members of our City Council. You will have a full plate, but I feel you are up to the task at hand.
