Show off your creative flair and design a sheet of wrapping paper for the News & Record’s annual holiday gift wrap contest.
There are two divisions, one for youths (children through the eighth grade) and one for adults (high school through senior citizens).
We’ll print both winning designs as sheets of real gift wrap in the Dec. 20 Life section. Here are the rules:
* The contest is open to everyone living within our circulation area: Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Davidson and Alamance counties.
* One entry per person.
* On the back of your entry, write your name, age (students, include your grade) address and a daytime phone number.
* We want to see what you, not your computer, can do. Use paint, crayons, construction paper or other materials, but make sure your entry is handmade.
* No commercial characters. Although Japanese-style manga artwork is acceptable, don’t replicate existing characters because of copyright issues.
* Try to make your entry as close to the size of the
finished design as possible — 111/2 by 20 inches.
* No color photocopies or pencil sketches.
* All entries must be received by Dec. 11. Because of the volume of mail, we will not be able to return your submissions.
Send your entries to: News & Record, c/o Tina Firesheets, 200 E. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27401.
Not all of the newspaper's content appears online.
*There is a fee for downloading some older articles.
