Congratulations, Greensboro, you have a good eye for community values. Last week, I was privileged to visit (in a wheelchair) the Greensboro Natural Science Center with a group from the Adams Farm Living and Rehab facility, viewing a wide variety of outdoor and indoor exhibits, not only professionally presented but largely accessible for the handicapped.
To end an all-too-short beautiful day, there was a sheltered pavilion to enjoy a picnic in a wooded area.
In my 84 years, I have seen the San Diego Zoo, the Bronx Zoo, the Hayden Planetarium and Museum of Natural History in New York City. I can share the pride that Gary Brown, Science Center board chairman, takes in the center’s ranking among the top 13 facilities in the nation accredited by the American Association of Museums (News & Record, Nov. 1).
Greensboro is getting full value for the Nov. 3 bond issue. Go out with the kids and see for yourself.
