WENTWORTH — The Rockingham County Department of Public Health has received 600 more doses of the inactivated H1N1 flu vaccine.
A special vaccination clinic for several targeted population groups will be held at the Department of Public Health from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
Those population groups include pregnant women, people who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months, health care and emergency personnel, those age 6 months to 24 years old and anyone age 25-64 with certain chronic medical conditions or weakened immune systems. Shots will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
This vaccine is administered by injection just like the seasonal flu shot, and pregnant or breastfeeding women can receive it. The inactivated vaccine can be given at the same time as other vaccines, including the seasonal flu vaccine.
