Israel’s not the villain

The Associated Press pictorial story on the cover of the Life section (Oct. 22) belonged in the editorial section, not there.

Contrary to world opinion, Israel is not the villain in the Palestinian conflict. There are Palestinians living and working in Israel. I had a driver from the hotel who was a Palestinian when I visited Israel in 1993. Our tour bus driver was Arab and worked great with the Jewish guide. This is as it should be.

If Mexico daily bombarded the southern borders of the United States with deadly rockets, would we not be wary of invasion and try to protect ourselves?

Israel is right to be very wary of Palestinians. God bless Israel!

Of course we'd try to protect ourselves, but then we'd have to expect that the "international community" would take Mexico's side due to the unfair appropriation of their lands in the Mexican War, their poverty relative to our wealth, etc., etc.

Although not outright villainous, Israel is complicit in the ongoing conflict between them and Palestine, imho. And they are not "our friend" even tho we give them lots of money to be friendly.

Ms Pulliam, how closed minded can one person be? Can you even fathom how many thousands of Palestinians have been slaughtered by the Israeli's since your little cab trip in 1993? Can you even comprehend the fact that this is Palestinian land that has be stolen from men, women and children over the years and Palestinians have the right to do any job that they want IN THEIR COUNTRY?? We need to stop backing the the largest terrorist organization on the the planet--the state of Israel.

It is past time Israel stopped catering to these so-called palestinians that no other muslim country will tolerate. I say bulldoze the dome of the rock and get on with temple rebuilding.
