Red yeast rice facts

Your Oct. 19 article regarding red yeast rice failed to mention that on Aug. 9, 2007, the Food and Drug Administration issued a warning letter regarding red yeast rice supplements. I suggest that your readers visit the FDA’s Web site for more information. What is presently available on the market may not be as represented in your article in that the FDA believes the natural statin has been removed.
