Frost advisory in effect this morning

GREENSBORO — A frost advisory is in effect for central North Carolina until 9 a.m. today.

This area includes Guilford, Forsyth, Alamance, Davidson, Randolph and Chatham counties as well as the Triangle.

Counties along the North Carolina-Virginia border are under a similar advisory until 10 a.m. today. This area includes Rockingham, Stokes, Caswell Surry and Yadkin counties.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the mid 30s for a few hours this morning, especially in areas along and west of Interstate 85. The temperatures could damage or even kill sensitive outdoor plants that are left uncovered.
