Reidsville home hit by gunfire
REIDSVILLE — A 47-year-old Eden man faces an assault charge after shots were fired at a home last week.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said Childs Raymond Wright Jr. 47, of 320 Wright’s Trail in Eden is being held in the county jail on a $500,000 bond. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a weapon into an occupied property.
Last Wednesday, Reginal Leray Hensley, 46, and Larry Dean Mitchell, 49, were outside Hensley's home at 2230 Ashley Loop Road when shots were fired.
Neither men was hit, but gunfire hit the home. No injuries were reported.
Deputies recovered .45 caliber shell casings on the road and in front of the house. The sheriff's office did not say how many shots had been fired.
The sheriff's office said Hensley had been threatened before the shooting. Wright is the ex-husband of Hensley's girlfriend.
The woman was inside the Ashley Loop Road home when the incident took place. The sheriff's office did not identify her.
