GREENSBORO — A man who suffered a single gunshot in the back today in what police call a drive-by shooting was treated and released from the hospital, police say.
The victim, Antonio Jeresse Harden, 23, was walking to a corner store on Woodmere Drive and Phillips Avenue around 8:45 a.m. when he was shot by a passenger whom he said was in an older model, burgundy Ford Explorer, according to Greensboro police.
The victim ran to a nearby apartment in the New Garden Place Apartments at 1515 Woodmere Drive. The victim was awake and alert as an ambulance took him to Moses Cone Hospital.
Police said the victim was shot by a shotgun.
Police did not have any suspects. Lt. Dennis Willoughby said Harden did not know the shooter.
