"It's tremendous for Steve, it really is," coach Frank Spaziani said. "He drops out of the student section and after a lot of hard work he becomes the all-time leading scorer."
In 2005, Aponavicius was shirtless with his body painted for the Eagles' opener against Army and was captured in the team's highlight video.
Shortly after the game, a graduate assistant coach noticed him kicking footballs in Alumni Stadium and asked him to walk on to the team.
BC (6-3) is 6-0 at home.
Aponavicius had an 18-yard field goal and four extra points, giving him 267 total points to surpass kicker Brian Lowe's (1986-89) mark of 262.
