GREENSBORO – Aaron Jones had been waiting two weeks for this. Returning from a one-game suspension, Jones rushed for more than 200 yards and four touchdowns as Western closed its regular season with a resounding win.
“You could tell he was hungry,” said Hornets head coach Chris Causey, whose team finishes third in the Metro 4-A.
Western quarterback Josh Thompson had more than 300 yards passing, and D’Eric Baldwin had a fumble recovery touchdown for the Hornets, who led 28-6 at the half.
“We jumped on them early,” Causey said, “and that kind of set the tone.”
