Man shot while taking out garbage
GREENSBORO – A man was shot and robbed Friday afternoon while taking out his garbage along West Florida Street.
Greensboro police were called to 2904 West Florida Street around 4 p.m. Friday on a shooting call, according to a news release.
Ariel Gonzalez told police that he was taking his garbage to a dumpster when he was approached by two men.
The suspects struck him in the face, knocked him to the ground and shot him.
The men grabbed Gonzalez’ wallet and cell phone and fled. Gonzalez was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects were described as two black men, both around 5 feet 8 inches tall with thin builds.
One of the suspects had long dreadlocks. The suspects possibly fled in a black Ford Taurus.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000.
Callers remain anonymous and are eligible for cash rewards.
