Perkins a voice of reason

Monday, November 2, 2009
(Updated 2:05 am)

Robbie  Perkins has served with distinction on the Greensboro City Council, both as a district representative and at-large. He seems to be one of the few candidates talking about economic development, as well as sustainability issues.

He has also been a reliable advocate for local neighborhoods, helping to keep them stable and safe. And his has been a quiet voice of reason and civil discourse on council when others were strident and divisive. Please support him for City Council at-large.

As one of the residents of the local neighborhoods--and really, what other kind of neighborhoods are there? global neighborhoods?--that have been kept stable and safe through Robbie Perkins's reliable advocacy, I appreciate his reliable advocacy. On the other hand, his reliable advocacy didn't stop my wife's change-filled ashtray from being pilfered by some ne'er-do-well too lazy to steal the stereo. So thanks for nothing, Robbie.

Mr. Jezorek, I agree that Robbie Perkins has served with distinction on City Council, and he has my vote to continue his service to the city. Seriously.

I agree to the point made of Mr. Perkins. In observing many of the traffic issues the speedway (Lees Chapel Rd) in NE Greensboro presents It's great to hear that at least one representative understands the need for sustainability and the safety that also is bundled into the concept. I am very frustrated over the inconsistent practices of providing sidewalks, bike lanes, medians providing a traffic diet; yet in my neighborhood ongoing calls about the heavier traffic due to work flow speeding through the 25mph school zone, drag racing late at night, riding 4-wheelers in the street and on the railroad tracks of Southern Railway, teenage youths standing in the road daring to see if someone will slam on brakes to avoid hitting them continues. Unfortunately our District 2 council woman is retiring and I have cast my vote early, but not for a developer to continue building and raping our forest that leads to the rural Bryan Park and Browns Summit vincinity. Mr. Perkins, please take control and protect our extreme end of NE Greensboro from those with no respect for the numerous senior citizens living in this area afraid of being hit each time we leave our driveways. We are the connector to our agriculture, recreational points North.
