GREENSBORO — A deliverer for Papa John's grabbed the arm of someone who displayed a handgun during an attempted robbery Thursday night, prompting the suspect to flee, police said.

About 9:54 p.m., the driver parked his vehicle at an apartment complex at 1725 Walker Ave. when someone approached him and displayed a handgun, Greensboro police said in a news release.

The driver, whom police did not identify, grabbed his arm and a struggle ensued.

A round was discharged from the weapon during the struggle, striking a parked vehicle. The suspect then fled in a silver Acura with a spoiler and tinted windows.

Police ask those with information to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
