Randolph fugitive recaptured

ASHEBORO — A Thomasville man who escaped house arrest has been recaptured.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office said deputies caught up with Charles Gray Gordon today. The 41-year-old Gordon of 603 Pennington Ave. is being held in the Randolph County jail on a $750,000 bond. He has been charged with violation of a domestic violence order and violation of electronic house arrest.

Gordon was arrested at 2 a.m. today at 4761 Waynick Meadow Road, which is southwest of Asheboro.

Gordon was under house arrest after being charged Sept. 8 with attempted murder in connection. Two people were seriously hurt in the incident at a home in Trinity.

The sheriff's office has not said when Gordon escaped home monitoring, but it alerted the public on Tuesday.
