Jeff Ellison, a native of Madison, has been named president of BB&T’s mortgage warehouse lending division.
Ellison, 47, will be based in Orlando, Fla. He will supervise daily operations and about 60 employees.
“Jeff’s experience in corporate lending and knowledge of our sales management method gives him the perspective and expertise needed to combine the best of BB&T’s warehouse lending operations with the best of what we recently gained through the Colonial acquisition,” said Robert Fentress, the company’s commercial finance president.
Ellison has held multiple positions in his 25 years with BB&T, most recently as senior credit officer for the east Florida region. He also has been a business services officer, area executive and retail banking manager.
“I am excited about joining the BB&T mortgage warehouse lending division,” Ellison said. “The new mortgage warehouse team is committed to providing reliable, high quality support to our existing customers while also growing our customer base.”
Ellison graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He graduated from the North Carolina School of Banking in 1992 and Louisiana State University’s School of Banking of the South in 1995.
