Knight has the ability to serve Greensboro well

Sunday, November 1, 2009
(Updated 2:00 am)

Bill Knight is our candidate for mayor of Greensboro. I have known Bill for many years and enthusiastically endorse him.

Bill is a retired Certified Public Accountant. He started his own CPA firm and, later, merged with Sharrard McGee & Co., P.A., where he was a partner in the firm. It will be most advantageous for Greensboro to have on board a person who has spent his professional career interpreting balance sheets and business records to assist companies in becoming profitable.

He has been active in many community organizations and in his church. In fact, for the last several years, since his retirement, he has done missionary rebuilding work in South America and the Katrina disaster area. Bill was raised in Greensboro in the Overseas Replacement Depot area and worked and paid his way through Guilford College before becoming a CPA.

There is nothing in this contest for Bill Knight other than serving his fellow man. Although the mayor’s position has always been considered a part-time job, due to his retirement status, he will spend whatever time is needed to get the job done. I urge you, even those who seldom vote, to vote for a good man.

Mike, if you are an attorney then I know you personally, and I respect your opinion. And if Bill Knight is a Guilford College graduate, I know he has an excellent education credential. And being a CPA is a real plus, a mark of excellence. But I must say that Yvonne Johnson has proven to me, "beyond a reasonable doubt" that she has managed the mayor's job well-enough to deserve another term. And it's really too bad that Bill is not a candidate for a district respresentative position on Council. What district does he live in? Yvonne will be re-elected. Sorry.

xeno(IQ)10, Yvonne Johnson is the joke of North Carolina's mayors. She has no idea how to conduct a meeting properly. She allows Bellamy-Small (evolutions missing link) and Wells (the town idiot) to interupt other council members and disrupt the meetings. Johnson allows this because she normally votes with the two above mentioned racist. Greensboro will never move forward with a stupid partisan mayor like Yvonne Johnson. But have a nice day.

Beachwalker, I'll respond to your foolish comments this one time only. I believe you need scapegoats for what ails you, and today there are no ones handier than competent, intelligent, and powerful City Council members Bellamy-Small, Johnson, and Wells (who just happen to be black). So, you're mentally ill, maybe? Who is your "shrink?" Seriously.

Lucky you Beachwalk, truman/zeus80/xeno10 will never reply to your comments again. Where do I sign up?

"Bellamy-Small, Johnson, and Wells (who just happen to be black)"

Once again we all see who the real racist is. It is not the middle aged white man, who only spoke of these three city council members record. I never mentioned race. I could care less if these three town idiots were red, yellow, black or white. They woudl still be idiots.

And I don't have a "shrink". I don't need one. But if I ever do, I'm sure you have had many sessions with a few, who you could recomend. Too bad they haven't been able to help you.

Since you, once again in your ramblings, brought up the race issue, you implied that since I was critical of Bellamy-Small, Johnson and Well, who happen to be black, I must be racist. Well I guess you must be a racist since you always criticize Mike Barber, Mary Rakestraw, Trudy Wade and Zack Matheny (since he voted to get rid of Mitch Johnson) who all happen to be white. I don't recall you ever being critical of a black politician. You don't seem to measure up to your own measuring stick.

I pray the citizens of Gso are not so ridiculously robot-icized that they re-elect Johnson or Bellamy Small..... they have effectively done nothing to improve the conditons of the average city citizen and are PUPPETS of racially motivated PAC's (with no comment from the N/R).... and yet, the citizens continue to re-elect their ilk....... not just an embarrassment..... scary to boot!

My vote is with Knight and an essentially new and FRESH council

Superb politician? Maybe.
Good for Greensboro? NO WAY.

You used the adjectives competent and intelligent in the same sentence with Bellamy-Small and Wells? Imagine that! Wasn't it Goldie Wells who told the general public who were complaining about not being able to get prompt police response that the reason was that they needed to call the police chief instead of 911?
