Address: 6100 Burnside Road
E-mail address: vmmack@iwon.com
Previous elective experience: on council past four years
Other relevant experience: Guilford County Council of PTA’s, past PTA president, past MSA board member.
Why have you chosen to run for this office? I want to continue helping the town of Sedalia grow and prosper
Key qualifications you would bring to the job: I am a natural leader and I know how to network to get things done.
Family: Husband and daughter
What distinguishes you most from your opponents? I have been a community leader for the past 12 years as a PTA president and member, as a youth sports coach and as a community volunteer.
Please list the top three issues in Sedalia and your stances on those issues:
1. Water and Sewer: as a current member of the council I work with the other members to continue to find ways to fund our water and sewer project in hopes of one day soon getting city water and sewer for the town members who want it.
2. Growth: I work with the planning board on the town comphrensive growth plan and making sure that Sedalia grows as we want it to grow forward but not out of control.
3. Paving all roads: As current finance officer, I work with the council to find ways to fund our ever-present road situations to try to pave all roads within the town and maintain the current roads that we have.
If you were to give Sedalia a letter grade on its effectiveness in managing growth, what would it be? An A. The current council along with the planning board has worked very hard to ensure the right kind of growth for the town.
What vote or decision of the current council would you overturn? Why do you disagree with the decision? As a current council member I agree with all the decisions that we have made thus far.
