Mary Rakestraw has been my at-large representative on the City Council. She was also my representative on the Board of Commissioners.

Mary is a fine public servant and deserves election in District 4.

No representative has ever been more responsive to requests of citizens than Mary has been. She is concerned for the needs of the residents and is accessible to all. I am familiar with one instance in which the city was going to cut down trees on a resident’s private property. She got this stopped.

There are many examples of her service, such as being responsive to neighborhoods.

Please vote for Mary.

I was agog when I saw letters profusely supporting Mary Rakestraw, early in her campaign. While she is ineffective and mostly a cartoon character, I must tip the hat to her campaign style for pulling the wool over enough eyes to get many letters sent in support.
REFRESHER:
It was Rakestraw who did everything but play tiddly winks at County Commissioner meetings. She would giggle and whisper to Phyllis Gibbs while other commissioners tried to do the people's business. When given an opportunity, she would work to "divide" the board over personalities and not substance. Well guess what? She did the same thing in her short time on the city council. Serious people, concerned with the future of our city and our county do not take Mary Rakestraw seriously. Her offhand comment about B.J. Barnes, intimating that he had something to do with the death of Ed Pons, shows just how shallow she can be.
Fortunately for the district, they have the opportunity to elect a great person in Joel Landau and I hope they do. Mary Rakestraw is but a hemmorhoid on any board she serves upon.
