OPINION

Johnson provides steady hand in unsteady times

Your editorial endorsement of Yvonne Johnson (Oct. 18) is a clear affirmation for me that my vote for her will be well-cast. She has indeed demonstrated “calm, confident leadership” during a stormy period, and it this poise in the midst of chaotic times that serves her well and is an example for all of us to follow.

We each have the choice to meet our challenges with optimism and steadiness or to allow ourselves to be defeated by difficulties and negativity. Greensboro is blessed to have a mayor who seeks to bring unity even when it seems as though we are sometimes divided by different perspectives.

I would prefer to have a mayor who listens to those perspectives, acknowledges various opinions, and who represents all the people fairly.

Yvonne Johnson is such a mayor.

I'm voting for Yvonne - she is an integral member of the CCC (City Council Clowns) and hopefully will continue to provide much amusement & entertainment -

. . . a politician must have a steady hand . . . while stroking off the city.

Yvonne Johnson has been a good Mayor for Greensboro. I will continue to support her efforts to make this city live up to its potential.

"who represents all the people fairly"

I don't feel like she's represented me or any of my friends at all!
