Sheriff: Attempted murder suspect on the run

ASHEBORO – Authorities are trying to find a Thomasville man who is believed to be on the run after being charged with attempted murder.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Charles Gray Gordon, 41, who was arrested Sept. 8 in connection with an assault the day before at 5985 Jim Pierce Drive in Trinity.

The assault sent two people to the hospital with injuries.

Gordon was arrested and charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count of burglary and impersonating a law enforcement officer.

He was placed on house arrest but removed his monitoring device and is on the run, the sheriff’s office said. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

His last known address is 603 Pennington Ave. in Thomasville.
