Alamance authorities continue search for missing man

HAW RIVER — Alamance County authorities are continuing to look for an 87-year-old man who was last seen leaving his home Friday.

The N.C. Department of Crime Control & Public Safety has issued a Silver Alert for Hugh Clarence Clark, who lives in the 500 block of Trollingwood Road.

The Alamance County Sheriff's Office said Clark left his home at 2 p.m. Friday to have his car serviced on North Church Street in Burlington. He drives a gold 1997 Lincoln Town Car with N.C. plates VNP-1497.

Area residents said they saw someone fitting Clark's description driving erratically on South Mebane Street, Trail Eight, O'Neal Street and South Church Street in Burlington at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Clark is a white man with short gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray shirt, navy pants and brown shoes. Clark might be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Anyone who knows where Clark might be can call the sheriff's office at 570-6300.
