GREENSBORO -- Charlie Westfal's 21-yard touchdown run with 3:39 left in regulation lifted visiting Washington & Lee to a 28-21 ODAC win at Guilford on Saturday.

The teams combined for six turnovers, five of which led to touchdowns.

Mike Hartford set up Washington and Lee's (3-5, 2-2 ODAC) first score with a first-quarter interception that led to Westfal's 18-yard touchdown pass to Harrison Hudson. The Generals' Rob Look recovered a muffed punt inside Guilford's 20-yard line, setting up Johnathan Clemo's two-yard touchdown run for a 14-0 halftime edge.

Guilford (1-6, 0-3) used turnovers to force three second-half ties. Kenneth Hyman III picked off Westfal on the second-half's first play. Nine plays later, Guilford quarterback Billy Watkins scored his team-leading fifth rushing touchdown of the year from 2 yards out, making it a 14-7 game. The Quakers' tied the score early in the fourth on Mike Williams' 27-yard touchdown run, which was set up by a Sage Luley fumble recovery at the Generals' 33-yard line.

But Washington & Lee's John Kavanagh returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and a 21-14 lead.

Guilford junior linebacker David LaPlaca recovered a quarterback fumble 42 yards for his first college touchdown, which tied the game at 21-21 with 6:38 left.

Guilford's Watkins completed 29-of-43 passes for 209 yards. Justin Parker was his favorite target with a season-high 11 receptions for 91 yards. Tyler Hasty added a personal-best nine receptions for 65 yards.

Williams finished with 65 rushing yards on 14 carries, and teammate Earl Womble added 60 yards on the ground on 14 carries.

Richie Paul made a game- and career-high 18 tackles, the most by a Quakers' defender since Josh Clayton made 20 tackles against Catholic in 1999.
