Time Warner Cable said today it will launch its 4G mobile network in Greensboro, Charlotte and Raleigh on Dec. 1.

The first product will be Road Runner Mobile, which will offer Internet access on the go for as little as $34.95 per month for Time Warner Cable Triple Play customers with Price Lock Guarantee, according to a news release. The service will include Internet speeds up to 6 Mbps.

Time Warner Cable plans to launch additional mobile services to customers in the future, such as the ability to program a DVR from a mobile device and the ability to take video content on the go.

Time Warner Cable will expand its 4G Mobile network to additional service areas, including Dallas, Honolulu and Maui, in the next few months

Time-Warner is a minor investor in Clearwire's Clear 4G network. Clearwire is currently rolling out Clear 4G in the Greensboro market so it appears that TW Roadrunner is simply "reselling" Clearwire service under their brand.

Time warners a joke. When I switched and got a hd dvr had nothing but problems, took it back and they assured me I was now getting one that had been tested. My old dvr worked fine til I switched to hd, it loses signals in the middle of a show, pauses for no reason, freezes. I call and their answer everytime is reboot it. I do and it happenes again and again. They say bring it back but damn its costing me a fortune in fuel going back and forth. Seems they could REALLY test their products before they issue them.

As an ex employee, I can honestly say, most of time warner services are not their own. Most channels above 13 are brought in through Directv, the telephone service used to be Sprint til Sprint got fed up with TWC, then it became Verizon. Road Runner is really the only thing TWC provides. Everything else you can go directly to the source and get it cheaper. For 4g, the best bet will be any cell phone service provider, not TWC. For cable, turn to Direct (Dish doesn't have as many satellites, so you may get some days of blackouts. For phone, ATT or Verizon.
