EDEN — A third man has been arrested in the stabbing and robbery of a man at a local boat landing.
Ray Donnelly "D.J." Sharpe Jr., 23, of 161 Kirkwood Drive surrendered to Rockingham County deputies Monday afternoon. He was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $250,000.
The charges stem from an attack on 34-year-old Martin Medna of Eden, who was stabbed early Sunday while at the boat landing at 587 Bethlehem Church Road. Medna sustained cuts on his head and shoulder, then jumped in the river to escape his attackers.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said three suspects stole $100 and Medna's Ford Explorer. The vehicle was recovered that night a short distance away.
Two others face charges.
Hannah Hunnicutt, 23, of 503-A Carolyn Court in Eden was charged with two counts of felony aid and abet. Her bond was set at $500,000.
Marcus Antoine Hairston, 23, of 318 Sunset Drive in Eden was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a felony, larceny of a motor vehicle and robbery with a dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $25,000.
