For those who have missed the collards, Liberian Hot Pepper Soup, Jollof Rice, Tilapia Marinated in Cavalla Sauce and other Liberian and Caribbean specialties offered at Tia's Soul Food before it left Fanta City Mall in Greensboro, take heart.
Jeff and Letia Bates, who formerly operated Tia's Soul Food, are opening Tia at Canterbury's Intercontinental Restaurant (884-7022; www.tiaatcanterburys .com) at 1701 Westchester Drive in High Point.
The menu also includes Italian pasta dishes, burgers, smoked fish wraps and a children's menu.
A grand opening is planned Friday.
Steakhouse to open
Oh! Brian's at 3501 High Point Road has closed.
It its place, a new restaurant is planned.
Fargo Cattle Company is described as a steakhouse that will offer prime rib, filet and porterhouse, along with baby back ribs similar to those that were a signature for Oh! Brian's.
Another location is currently serving in Zebulon.
In addition to a buffet featuring about 30 items, the restaurant will offer pasta and fish.
An opening is planned for later this month.
Restaurant benefits arts
Dan Thai Jazz Bistro (1116 Eastchester Drive) at Center Stage Shopping Center in High Point will be the host for Go Out for Art presented by the High Point Area Arts Council on Thursday.
Ten percent of the Thursday night's proceeds will be donated to the council's United Arts Fund Drive. For reservations, call 889-3896.
Murder mystery dinner
How about dinner with a side of suspense?
Yancey House Restaurant (699 U.S. 158 West) in Yanceyville is hosting "The Diamond Murder," a mystery dinner starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Dine out to feed seniors
Eat at Golden Corral locations in Greensboro and High Point Monday and help feed seniors.
On the third Monday of each month, Golden Corral locations at 2419 Lawndale Drive and 4404 Landview Drive in Greensboro and 1080 Mall Loop Road in High Point will donate 10 percent of proceeds from each meal served to Mobile Meals.
Remaining dates for this promotion are Nov. 16 and Dec. 21.
Chef auction planned
The 18th annual Signature Chefs Auction to benefit March of Dimes is set for Nov. 5 at the Empire Room in downtown Greensboro.
Chefs from Avenue, Painted Plate, Ganache and B. Christopher's are among the area restaurants and caterers who will showcase their talents for the event.

Restaurant closes
J. Butlers Bar and Grill at 3815 Tinsley Drive in north High Point has closed.
Regional director Barry Shelton said the economy and the competition had a big impact on business.
The chain has an additional location in south High Point, two locations in Greensboro and a Lewisville restaurant. Shelton said those locations are doing well. If the market shows promise in the future, he said J. Butler's might resurface in north High Point.
Pizza restaurant to open
On the flip side, north High Point is getting a Donatos Pizza at 5872 Samet Drive, Suite 105 (887-2300) at Palladium Commons. An expected opening is Oct. 24.
Donatos (www.donatos.com) specializes in hand-tossed pizzas, oven-baked subs, starters, salads and desserts.
Win a yogurt shop
TCBY (The Country's Best Yogurt) is giving away a new TCBY store.
