GREENSBORO – A Greensboro convenience store owner was arrested Thursday on charges of fraudulent use of food stamps at area grocery stores.
Mohdthamen Hassan Dajani, 37, owner of the University Mart at 722 Warren St., was arrested on 18 counts of obtaining property by false pretense, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
Dajani is accused of using food stamps not issued to him to obtain groceries from seven area grocers.
He was arrested and booked into the Guilford County jail on a $100,000 bond.
The arrest came from a joint investigation between local and federal officials.
Additional charges are expected to be filed.
