I love this time of year. Stew sales, bake sales, bazaars, golf outings, festivals — and the perfect weather, not too hot and not too cool. This weekend brings us the Reidsville Downtown Fall Festival, the Pork Jam BBQ Festival in Pelham and Monsters on the Mountain Music Festival in Mayodan. Each one of these events has something unique to offer our community.
The Reidsville festival will have regional fine arts and crafts, heritage demonstrations and usually the biggest car show that I have ever seen.
The Pork Jam BBQ festival offers barbecue and lots of arts and crafts vendors.
And Monsters on the Mountain Music Festival at Farris Park in Mayodan will feature rock bands playing all day. This event will benefit the American Red Cross food pantry with the vendors donating 10 percent of their profits. Your admission to the event is canned food or a monetary donation to help support the nonprofit. And we all know that the food pantry has a big demand.
So, pick an event and have some great fun.
