High Point University picked up its second verbal commitment in men’s basketball this week. It's Georges MaNgoue, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound center from Forsyth Country Day in Wisnton-Salem.
MaNgoue drew recruiting interest from Elon, N.C. Central, UNC-Asheville and Western Carolina. He joins shooting guards Justin Cheek of Charlotte and James Williams of Deerfield Beach, Fla.
In other High Point news, Stedman Short, a former Panthers forward who transferred to Chipola Junior College, has committed to Marshall.
UNCG: April Carson, a 5-foot-10 junior shooting guard from Nova (Fla.) High, has verbally committed to the Spartans. She averaged 9.5 points, five assists and four rebounds per game.
