The community will fill Main Street on Saturday for the annual Fall Festival, and they’ll see many more vendors there than last year.
The free event, sponsored by the Merchants Association, is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vendors signed up for the festival much faster than in previous years, said Mandy Smith of The Jewelry Village. She has 70 confirmed vendors and believes all 80 spots may be filled. She planned to put any extra vendors on Lewis and Piedmont streets.
“This is huge,” Smith said. “We expect this year to be the best yet.”
Vendors will sell food, handcrafted items and personalized items, jewelry, candles, baked goods and more. Children can enjoy an area with face-painting, games and a moon bounce.
The Mason Lovette Band, a Southern rock and country group, will perform, along with the Hip Pocket Band, which plays Motown, soul, new country, dance and other music styles.
Also, many local groups will perform, including Hearts on Fire, Center Stage Dance, Western Alamance middle and high school dance teams, and the Town and Country Cloggers. Several informational booths will be part of the event.
“We hope that everybody comes out and supports the local merchants and vendors,” said Tiffany Lattero, president of the merchants group.
“It’s going to be great as long as people come out for it,” she said.
