High Point police arrested four people in September they say were working together to burglarize cars in the Wendover Avenue corridor. During a six-week crime spree starting in July, approximately 70 vehicles were burglarized.

Police say the suspects would either break windows of vehicles or enter unlocked vehicles and remove iPods, Laptop computers, cell phones, global positioning devices, CDs and credit cards.

On Sept. 8, detectives recovered a stolen motor vehicle on Morris Farm Drive that had been reported stolen out of Greensboro the same day. This vehicle contained stolen property that led detectives to identify a suspect that had been in possession of some of the property.

Three days later, detectives arrested Meonte C. Florence, 24, of 2931-B Florida St. in Greensboro, and charged her with misdemeanor larceny, two counts of felony larceny, and three counts if felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 15 and Sept. 16, Terrence Pierre Lawson, 17, of 2931-B Florida St., and Romauld Dwight Lawrence, 17, and Tajh Lamar Woolfolk, 17 both of 1207 Ashe St. in Greensboro, were arrested and charged with the same crimes.

All four suspects were released by the magistrate on a written promise to appear.

On Sept. 29, detectives re-arrested Lawrence, Woolfolk and Lawson on additional charges. In total, they were charged with misdemeanor larceny, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, 12 counts of felony larceny from a motor vehicle, and 11 counts of felony larceny.

Lawrence and Woolfolk were both placed in the High Point jail under $25,000 bond each. Lawson was placed in the Greensboro jail under $50,000 bond.
