GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Elon scored twice in the final 2 seconds and Terrell Hudgins set the NCAA Division I mark for career receptions in a 19-12 victory over Furman on Saturday.

Furman led 12-10 until Adam Shreiner's 37-yard field goal gave Elon (4-1, 2-0 Southern Conference) a 13-12 lead with 2 seconds left.

"The miss, I wasn't really worried about it," said Shreiner, who missed a 38-yarder with 8:39 to play. "I was ready. I've had pressure kicks before in my career."

Shreiner's kickoff was fumbled in the end zone and Elon's Travis Greene recovered it for a touchdown for the final score.

Elon started its final drive from its own 28. After Furman took back-to-back timeouts, Shreiner calmly drilled the go-head field goal

"We made plays down the stretch," Elon coach Pete Lembo said. "We knew from the start that they weren't going to give up big plays."

Hudgins tied his career high with 16 catches and set a NCAA career mark for career receptions with 331.

He passed Florida A&M's Jacquay Nunnally, who held the Football Championship Subdivision record with 317 catches from 1997-2000, and Purdue's Taylor Stubblefield, who held the Football Bowl Subdivision mark with 316 catches from 2001-2004.

Hudgins finished with 209 yards receiving and a 1-yard touchdown reception.

Riddle was 35-for-48 for 374 yards and his scoring pass to Hudgins for a 10-6 lead with 4:03 remaining in the game.

Riddle's 374 passing yards accounted for his 15th career 300-plus yard passing game.

Hudgins went over 200 yards receiving for the third time in his career, equaling the SoCon record for career 200-plus yard receiving games, which is also held by Appalachian State's Davon Fowlkes.

On defense for Elon, both Dale Riley and Nolan Ward posted a team-high 10 tackles. Joshua Jones had eight more stops

Furman (3-2, 2-1) took a 12-10 lead on Tersoo Uhaa's 1-yard run with 1:56 left to cap a seven-play, 73-yard drive.

Jerry Williams led Furman with 60 yards rushing and Jordan Sorrells was 21-for-41 for 219 yards. Adam Mims had nine catches for 82 yards.
