HIGH POINT – A High Point man was arrested and charged Friday in connection with a Wednesday morning bank robbery.
Matthew David Floyd, 33, was arrested at 2429 West Green Drive, Room 115, by High Point police in connection with the Wednesday morning robbery of High Point Bank and Trust, according to a news release.
According to police, a suspect entered the bank at 2758 South Main St. at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday, threatened to use a weapon and robbed the bank.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled on foot across South Main Street toward the Burger King.
The suspect was seen getting into a white vehicle on Bellemeade Street.
After an investigation, police were able to identify the suspect as Floyd and make an arrest.
He has been charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
He is being held at the Guilford County jail in High Point on a $150,000 bond.
The case is still under investigation and more charges are expected, police said.
