High Point to deliver carts for recycling

Sunday, September 20, 2009
(Updated 2:56 am)

High Point will begin delivering 35,500 new 95-gallon recycling carts to High Point residents this week.

Distribution will begin for residents on Thursday’s routes and continue to Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday’s collection routes.
Distribution is expected to be completed next spring.

Informational brochures on the recycling program will be attached to each cart.

Service will remain the same, but recyclables will be collected every other week.

The city is switching to automated collection because it saves time and money and is safer for employees.

Customers may keep their 18-gallon recycling bins for other uses. If they do not want them, they may place the bins in the new carts for recycling.
