GREENSBORO — The city will hold a public workshop next week to get input as it moves forward with a second study for development recommendations along the High Point Road/West Lee Street corridor.

The workshop will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 3030 High Point Road.

Workshop participants will be reintroduced to the findings of the first study on the corridor, which was adopted by Greensboro City Council in December 2008, and will help identify design standards and improvement approaches for the area between South Eugene and Veasley streets.

The workshop will be hosted by the Central Gateway Corridor Partnership, formerly known as the Citizen Steering Committee, which consists of High Point Road/West Lee Street businesses, property owners and surrounding neighborhood representatives.

This is the first in a series of public meetings related to the corridor. The results of these workshops will be used by the partnership and the City's Planning Department to develop design guidelines and tools to be used as new development and redevelopment proposals are made for the corridor.
