GREENSBORO — Three men who pleaded guilty in a September 2007 drug-related homicide will spend at least 17 years each in state prison.
The men -- Donny Mosley, 24; Pedro Sanchez, 18; and Justin Jeffries, 17 -- were convicted on charges of second-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in the Sept. 24, 2007, killing of 28-year-old Karl LaMont Mark.
Mark was found shot and killed in his Chevrolet Blazer at Washington Street and South Benbow Road.
A passenger, Patrina Allen, had minor injuries from broken glass and was treated at Moses Cone Hospital. Her 3-year-old daughter was in the car but was uninjured.
Prosecutor Stephen Cole said previously that Sanchez , Mosley and Jeffries planned to rob Mark of marijuana. Mosely was reported to have shot at Mark’s vehicle while the two men were riding with him.
Sanchez and Jeffries both pleaded guilty and took deals with prosecutors to testify against Mosley. The testimony was not needed after Mosley pleaded guilty Monday to get a reduced sentence.
Mosely was sentenced to between 22 and 29 years in prison. Sanchez received between 19 to 22 years, and Jefferies received between 17 and 21 years in prison.
