WINSTON-SALEM (AP) — A North Carolina judge has ruled that Lexington Furniture Industries Inc. has properly advertised a top furniture collection and rejected a bid to void the company's deal with an artist.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported Tuesday that North Carolina Business Court Judge Ben Tennille ruled that Lexington should keep its licensing agreement with American Realist painter Bob Timberlake.
Timberlake said Lexington was focusing more on advertising a lower-priced imported Timberlake line at the expense of the World of Bob Timberlake line.
The agreement began in 1991 under different Lexington management and was renewed several times. Lexington sued last year after Timberlake tried to terminate the agreement.
