GREENSBORO — Alonzo Lee is the 17th head coach at N.C. A&T since the school began playing football in 1924.

But he's just the third A&T rookie coach to win his first two games. George Small started 2-0 in 2003, and Hornsby Howell's 1968 team won its first three games.

Small's team finished 10-3 and won the MEAC title, and Howell's team went 8-1 and won a CIAA championship.

Lee has his work cut out for him to match Howell as the only A&T rookie coach to start 3-0. The Aggies host Hampton on Saturday, and the Pirates have won five in a row against A&T by an average of 32 points.

Hampton is 1-1.
