WINSTON-SALEM (AP) — A Wells Fargo & Co. executive says the merged, San Francisco-based bank plans to add about 150 jobs at a North Carolina hub that specializes in serving wealthy customers.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported Friday the bank will keep about 2,800 employees in Forsyth County.
Wells Fargo regional president Stanhope Kelly said it also expects to add 150 jobs over the next two years primarily in wealth management, trust and branches.
Kelly says some of the new wealth and trust jobs are being transferred into Winston-Salem from other locations.
Wells Fargo took over Charlotte-based Wachovia last October. The acquisition has led to layoffs in North Carolina and the Midwest.
