Clean elections and public financing will be the topic of a Greenboro Neighborhood Congress meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Nussbaum Room of the Greensboro Central Library, 219 N. Church St.
Bob Phillips, executive director of Common Cause of North Carolina, and Josh Glasser, director of the Common Cause Local Public Financing Project, will speak in support of public financing. Becki Gray, the John Locke Foundation's vice president for outreach, will present the opposing view.
GNC has also announced these City Council candidate forums in October, also in the library's Nussbaum Room:
7 p.m. Oct. 8: Mayoral candidates.
6:30 p.m. Oct. 12: District candidates.
6:30 p.m. Oct. 19: At-large candidates.
