GREENSBORO — Machine Specialties Inc. will move from Greensboro to Whitsett this fall and add 145 employees by 2015, the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance announced Thursday.
The company makes precision-machined and metal components for industries such as medical, aerospace and manufacturing.
Machine Specialties will move from its 50,000-square-foot location at 1034 Boulder Road in Greensboro to 153,000 square feet at 6511 Franz Warner Parkway, in the Rock Creek Center in Whitsett, the current location of Pass & Seymour Legrand.
The new jobs will be primarily skilled technicians and engineers and will more than double the company's current workforce.
“We are pleased to announce this expansion and are proud of our success in Greensboro over the past 40 years and look forward to the implementation of this state-of-the-art project,” company President Rob Simmons stated in the news release.
In July, the Guilford County commissioners approved a special bond that would let Machine Specialties expand its business, but that does not have an impact on taxpayer money.
