HIGH POINT — Police say they have arrested a man whose alleged reckless driving injured a police officer.
Wilfred Eugene Bryson, 43, of 220 Davidson St. in Archdale was arrested at his home Wednesday.
He is being held in the Guilford County jail in High Point on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, careless and reckless driving, failure to stop after an accident, failure to report an accident and driving with a revoked license. His bond was set at $10,000.
High Point police officer Michael Farmer was hurt last Thursday night when a charcoal-colored Mercedes pulled in front of him and slammed on his brakes. Farmer's patrol car hit the back of the Mercedes, which drove away.
The crash happened on Westchester Drive at Ashford Circle. Police said that Farmer's injuries were minor and that he has returned to duty.
