CHAPEL HILL (AP) — Some of the more than 11,000 workers at UNC-Chapel Hill are upset their work schedules are being altered to make room for a weeknight football game on the campus.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Wednesday that university workers will go home two hours early Oct. 22 to accommodate the night game against Florida State University. State policy requires employees to make up the time.
Brenda Malone, UNC-CH vice chancellor, said workers can start a work day earlier, stay later or work through lunch that week.
Campus employee Richard Silc said hourly workers will be forced to juggle caring for children or elderly parents to accommodate the 60,000 fans expected for the football game.
