Redshirt freshman Kyle Parker says he feels more confident and assertive in his first week as Clemson's starting quarterback.
The Tigers' strong-armed thrower will debut Sept. 5 against Middle Tennessee and says he's grown already since coach Dabo Swinney's decision -- particularly in his teammates' eyes.
"I think the guys are expecting me to make plays and manage the offense," Parker said Sunday. "I can tell they're already looking at me to do that."
Clemson expects to have a more mature offensive line and one of the country's most electric playmakers in tailback C.J. Spiller.
MICHIGAN: Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez says he plans to use freshman Denard Robinson and two other quarterbacks in the season opener Sept. 5 against Western Michigan. Rodriguez spent about the first 10 minutes of his news conference Sunday answering questions about freshmen Tate Forcier and Robinson, who are competing for snaps along with junior Nick Sheridan, who started four games last year.
