Some Guilford County Schools will have new leadership when school begins Tuesday.
Rodney Wilds will take the reins at Andrews High School. He served as principal at Jackson Middle School last year.
A school administrator for six years, Wilds choose education as his career path because of his grandparents.
“I was inspired by my grandparents, who were both educators for over 30 years,” he said. “I enjoy developing our future leaders and helping them reach their potential.”
Wilds is looking forward to the new school year, especially “the excitement that a new year brings and the renewed commitment to hard work and high expectations.”
Montlieu Math and Science Academy will be steered by Jill Hall, who was assigned to Sternberger Elementary last year.
“I am so thrilled to be at Montlieu,” Hall said. “As a former teacher of mathematics, I have a passion for teaching math and science. So, to be the principal of a math and science magnet school is exciting.”
This will be Hall’s third year as an administrator.
“I absolutely love my job as a principal,” she said. “There is nothing more gratifying than being part of a child’s growth and success.”
Other new principals include Charles Blanchard at Southeast High School, Bobby Ann Hayes at the Early College at Guilford, William Laine at Northern High School, Ralph Kitley at Northwest HIgh, Lance Stokes at Jackson Middle, Rydell Harrison at Sternberger Elementary, Gay Citty at Morehead Elementary and Jeffrey Uhlenberg at Kernodle Middle.
