LEXINGTON — One of two men wanted in connection with the robbery of a Davidson County convenience store was arrested Thursday in Lenoir.
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office said it arrested 17-year-old Gregory Dean Craver of Lenoir. He was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Craver also was charged with one count of felony obtaining property by false pretense in an unrelated case of passing stolen checks at a local business. He is being held in the Davidson County jail on a $30,000 bond.
The sheriff's office has a warrant for the arrest of 22-year-old Dustin Matthew Russell, the second suspect in the robbery. Deputies said they also want Russell in connection with passing bad checks.
Thursday's arrest came three days after a robbery at the Flash To Go Mart at 3117 Michael Road in the Tyro community. One of the suspects had a shotgun, and the two men fled with a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Lenoir police arrested Craver on Thursday. The sheriff's office did not say where they thought Russell might be.
Anyone who knows Russell's whereabouts can call the sheriff's office at 242-2105 or Lexington Area Crimestoppers at 243-2400.
