JAMESTOWN — A Ragsdale High School teacher faces drug charges today.
Cecelia Ann Tolliver, of Pineburr Road, is charged with two counts of conspiracy to sell and deliver counterfeit controlled substances and two counts of conspiracy to sell cocaine. She was being held Friday afternoon in the Guilford County jail in High Point on a $10,000 bond.
Tolliver, 29, resigned Thursday from her job as a science teacher at Ragsdale High School. Tolliver has been a teacher with Guilford County since 2002.
High Point police arrested Tolliver this morning at Ragsdale. The arrest was part of a two-month long undercover operation that focused on cocaine sales. High Point police have warrants for 26 other suspects, according to Lt. Steve Myers.
Myers said the school was not involved in the investigation.
“We are deeply disappointed by today’s news and we’re concerned for everyone involved,” said Nora Carr, a spokeswoman with Guilford County Schools.
Police say "Operation Safe Streets" led to more than 74 cocaine-related charges against 26 people.
Special emphasis of the operation was given to the four areas: West End, Daniel Brooks, Southside and Greater East Central.
The roundup of suspects started Friday morning with the execution of three search warrants at three different locations: 900 Carter, 2200 Baltimore and 1028-B Asheboro streets.
Police ask anyone with information on the location of the remaining suspects to call High Point Crimestoppers at 889-4000.
